a week ago, pmyb2 was all about how he was supposedly against 'downvoting people over who they are, or opinions". he's NEVER, EVER going to take that stance again, i guarantee you. he's really not against downvoting or harassment.

I didn’t get the whole hans debacle either. He wasn’t downvoting anyone, just calling everyone trannies. But that was labeled as silencing users. Actively following someone around and downvoting everything they post is actually silencing someone.

You have a point. As a newcomer here, one of the first things I understood was that the downvote button is for spam and suchlike, not because you disagree with someone. A troll has floated over from that other site and has been trying to cause a disruption here. What I admired was the way he just gets downvoated and nobody responds, nobody bites, so he just runs out of steam. In my opinion that is good use of the downvote button. If someone is downvoting every post of yours, that is gay and sad.
