Early Digg was awesome, then it got popular and retards flooded the place and the website tried to completely remodel the platform, so everyone with a triple digit IQ bailed and went to Reddit.

Next, Reddit got popular and again like with Digg retards flooded the place. Unlike Digg the organization of the site allowed for this without displacing early users much. Then Reddit decided to try their hand at social engineering and everyone with a triple digit IQ left for Voat.

Unlike Digg and Reddit, Voat didn't get flooded with retards due to popularity (at least not direcly), it instead got flooded with anyone not willing to accept the Reddit social engineering as it affected them over time. Then it got flooded with some of the more toxic Reddit communities as they were deplatformed by Reddit. I am actually convinced that Reddit dropped many of those communities in an effort to use them to poison the Voat well when the inevitably migrated there (in that way you could say it indirectly got flooded with retards to to its popularity).

Now onto Poal. This place now has a chance to be the next haven for the higher IQ (on average) early migrators. I think I am going to stick around for a while. I still have my Voat account and will probably keep it for a while and just use both sites, but for the last year the quality of material and conversation there has been going down hill (just as it did with the other aggregators listed above).

My whole point in this post was unrelated to the drama. Even if you take all of the recent drama out of the equation...

On any of the above platforms, I've only ever tended to post comments when I've had a funny joke or something insightful I feel is worth saying on a topic. In the early days of all of those platforms replies were usually other jokes or insightful replies.

Just yesterday I posted something on Voat and it seems like most of the replies are just stupid kids saying faggot, kike, shill, cuck and the like just for the novelty of being allowed to curse without being banned.

I don't give two shits about their language, or their opinions for that matter, but they are not even trying to add to the conversation anymore. They are just as narcissistic as the Faceberg and Twatter fags who are not listening and learning so much as waiting for their turn to speak so they can be the center of attention.

On voat I was a novelty account for a while and the name just kind of stuck. I hope you enjoy the site and feel free to ask questions I know the interface is a little different and the rules are way different(as far as what you can and can't do as a new user) you can make subs and make posts with no restrictions. So enjoy.

I mostly just read a lot of articles and comment. I upvoat the things I like but mostly only downvoat if something is spam. I doubt any of the rules will impact me much.

It begs the question, how do you keep a free speech platform from devolving into what voat has become without limiting the free speech of the retarded?

Maybe it has something to do with that theory that communities start to break down after they get bigger than 150 or whatever the number was. I wonder what it would be like if every new user was assigned to a "homeroom" type group where it's small enough for others to poke and prod them. Maybe share more intimate information about each other that anybody outside of the group can't see. Then the group could vouch for them being not being an infiltrator

So take the same approach as the early USA?

Take in high value migrants, build a kick ass place, and then close the borders to the deadbeats who only wish to milk the system.

Just don't pass an immigration act like the US did in the mid 60s and it should work fine.
