also puts a name to the infamous "why the fuck is my post getting -5 votes 30 seconds after being submitted?". this lets everyone of the old guard see who the little shits are if they cause a problem.

Member some old horror movie where some person's on the phone with the police and cops're saying, "The call is coming from INSIDE the house! Get out now!" or something to that effect?

I have no proof, just a guess, but I'd wager a majority of those "upvotes / downvotes" are coming from "inside the house" meaning admins or bots they set up.

All those #1 posts on the front page, doesn't matter if they're pics, jokes or just "selected" news stories are pushing the agenda of the day.

What bothered me the most about voat pre ban was when someone new would post in v/introductions, 9/10 dv's show up no matter how the new person introduced themselves. Didn't matter if it was a reddit queer or a normie from Tallahassee, they were always getting treated rough right away. But somehow, this never became a problem until a few people dv putt's 'builder'post apparently?

It was the final straw before i burned my account on voat. there were always a few down votes on /new but most things got 5 up for every down. When i burned, it was closer to 3 down 2 up. apparently the userbase likes Aged posting porn. I posted against him, and the downvotes piled in. post, comment, no matter how obscure, it was -5 minimum. And because i stopped caring about being active, i was automatically a jew. Voat has something seriously wrong with it to be so vicious against a 4.3+ year account speaking their opinion, but voat can't have that apparently.

It was not a problem when it was directed against me, guess they got bolder and target putt.

I've only had that problem once on between both sites, and that was . I went back to check who it was once I got level 6, and it was Gabara and his SBBH crew. I'm so glad they were given helicopter rides. Thanks to for getting a screencap of it before they all got banned.

I don't think poal had that feature last time I was here. It's actually a pretty clever solution to a very specific problem. Will be interesting to see how similar scenarios play out, in different ways, in the future.

I’ve been using voat for years and still couldn’t tell you what that club’s purpose is. They always ask me to mod within minutes of starting new usernames and they almost all seem like tweakers relishing inanity.

They modded me, and then unmodded me the next day. I guess I didn't go in and go on a banhammer spree like they wanted, or something. Idunno.

the admins can clearly see this, as putt demonstrated in his recent debacle. the old guard should have been let in to this info, but voat was never designed to allow it.

It would be fun to watch exactly which groups are constantly crying out for being brigaded while brigading another group in a huge orgy of faggotry. then seeing the userbase try to deal with it without putt handing out mass bans.

I'm glad this was posted. I made a test downvote earlier, to see the pretty red arrow, that I forgot to undo. This feature helped me catch it and repair the damage.

It actually turns on when you hit level 6 aka yellow username (360 points in your profile's total score or top right in the menu).

plenty of test cases with the new recruits.

the math example i think its working on is

if X>6, then Vote.history.view=true

If its equivalent to that, then a fix could be

if X>=6, then Vote.history.view=true

or if the >= symbol isn't in the code base,

if X>5, then Vote.history.view=true

either way plenty of new accounts to find out if its level 6 or 7 it turns on.

i consider it to be joined before jan '19, others may have their own definition. Regardless, after 360 points there's no distinction between old and new for features on this site.
