I posed a question to Voaters - What's your backup to Voat and why? I was disappointed with the offerings out there (Phuks being one of those).

Pissing me off or endangering my hosting to the point that you incentivize me to get off my ass and write some content moderation/filtering tools.

But even then, the whole thing is designed to be forked, so if I am forced to remove content by my web host, you could mirror all the content I do have (in realtime) to another server that is less restrictive.

No single point of failure. No single point of authority.

Just curious, what do you find phuks useful for?

Phuks allows DIYguns and things that aren't allowed on the infamous site. However, racism & hatred are banned.

To be honest, I've mostly stayed on voat post outage. Poal does have a good feel.

Voat seems a bit impersonal. Responses to comments seem less common. For me, the voting on my comments changed after the gun influx. Previously, I'd get about 9 ups for 10 comments. It seemed to drop to about 6 per 10 or so Also, it is so big that my (few) posts were mostly unnoticed.

I tried phucks during that week long outage. Didn't like it. Finally gave the chans a go. Left the chans feeling a little more world weary and a whole lot dirty.

I've seen Boobs on Voat for years. Solid dude. When Justin started jewing it up, and he said he had a new platform, I came to check it out. The mobile presentation needs work, but I do like it here overall

Saw v/MeanWhileOnPoal or something like that on voat/all, decided to check out what poal was, liking it so far.

Putt got annoying: if that's how he's going to behave when the site is starting to gain traction, then I've got no faith in the site after it starts becoming popular.

It's like eating at a restaurant where the owner just comes in once a month to take the money after wages and other costs, but never ever goes into the kitchen, or otherwise gives a fuck about what is going on.

Except that the restaurant has no staff, people must also bring their own ingredients, cook them and wash the dishes. You also pay whatever you want.

The problem is that the owner doesn't care if the restaurant is filled with bums (spam and shills) and never fix broken equipments.

I was done with voat and its userbase being neglected by its owner, and looked for an alternative. Saw Boobs post about poal.

I've been disgruntled with voat for over a year. Tried Phuks but they are manipulative two faced Jews who banned me for not wanting black cock in white women. So after voat went down I saw pmboobs advertising and made and account. Took me three weeks or so to fully migrate and leave voat.

I would bring up racial topics and they forum slid me then started deleting my posts and comments and then banned me. Sure I wasn't the most friendly towards the end but when you have people deleting everything you do and mocking you in chat it's aggravating.
