Explain a little more? Edit: Got your PM and still working on a response. A lot there

So in the 70s a bunch of vegans managed to take over several federal departments. What they did was publish inconclusive research that basically said that people shouldn't eat meat. Keep in mind that there was plenty of inconclusive research coming to every conclusion under the sun. That's normal. But the inconclusive research that said what they wanted to say became the government's official conclusion.

These include the idea that humans don't need any fats.
That you shouldn't need any saturated fats.
That almost any amount of salt is bad.
That vitamins are the answer to health and will make you live forever (outside of avoiding some deficiency related diseases vitamins do very little to improve the health of one person to another).
That cholesterol is the cause of heart disease (that one isn't even statistically significant today and certainly wasn't conclusive then).
That margarine is a healthy alternative to butter.

It was all fake or over represented. Maybe it was the first example of a deep state? I know this stuff happened under Nixon. I'm not saying Nixon is to blame because deepstate cabals rarely care what a president thinks. Nixon probably didn't care about the issue and thought the guidelines were scientific.

Super interesting, I didn't know any of that happened.
