Uh, not exactly the same things being compared. It looks the same comparison, but first, this would be comparing criminals to normal people. Criminals don't give a shit about the law, that's why they'll get illegal guns. They do it already. Also, keeping guns legal, you're not legalizing murder. Making abortions legal, well, that's exactly the controversy about abortions, people against them see them as murder. Your logic seems correct, the argument that turning something illegal will not stop it looks the same. But one of the actors is someone who makes a living breaking the law. The law doesn't matter to him, this law would affect only law abiding citizens. We can't say the same about the other side, not every future mom would break the law.

My point pretty much is that both side seem to think becasue we make something illegal people won't do it. But both sides admit this isn't true. But no they are not the same thing.

Yep, I got it, but I felt the urge to point the differences between the situations, maybe because my own bias. Honestly, I can't tell. I look at it and my mind steers to the differences.
