I dunno. I kind of like it and want to keep it. Just hear me out:

It would confuse the hell out of spammers and trolls who are trying to create a brand around their username if it kept changing all the time.

Also, I notice on other sites there are some users who could literally post a photo of paint drying on the wall and get 300 upvotes just by virtue of who they are. It was really annoying and lame for others who worked hard on finding or creating OG. If everyones username changes everytime they post we really wouldn't know if that post was done by our "favorite" username or not. It would force everyone to vote on the merit of the content instead of users and voting brigades.

On that note: when huge migration waves hit here (which they will), then voting brigades will be slowed AND it will be harder for that group to find and identify each other. It might force THEM to assimilate more into "Poal" culture instead of pushing us out and instituting THEIR culture simply because they out number us (like we just all experienced).

I think it could be a real game changer.I kind of wish you would turn it back on, just to see how it would impact

Edit: I just thought of another pro: doxxing would become a bitch. Short of having someone's IP address or creditials to log in here, suddenly screen shots or archives become obsolete. You don't really know if that username is the same person, because it's not!

I agree. It's a two-sided coin, the message/messenger dichotomy. Agreed upon "facts" can center on that independent of who posts them, while opinions entail the reputation of credibility and insight. It is interesting how society is changing now that we have the ability to react/respond with the benefit of time to formulate those, versus having more immediate responses and visual ques that denote an initial, and sometimes mostly emotional, response. I think it's a difference of just that; emotion vs critical thinking. We are evolving, like it or not.
