I really found this video interesting not only because it told of the terrifying ride that could be considered a Splash Mountain predecessor, but because it really went into detail on the history of Song of the South, including the author of the original Uncle Remus stories and the controversy that's been going on with it for a while.

What I found most interesting was how Joel Chandler Harris, the original author of the Uncle Remus stories, was a strong advocate for racial reconciliation and harmony, even though critics accused him of cultural appropriation.

And also, it was pretty horrible that James Baskett wasn't allowed to attend the premiere of the movie at Fox Theater in Atlanta. Walt should've just done an act of civil disobedience and allowed him to come.

I personally will have to watch Song of the South just to form my opinion as to whether it's really as bad as people say it is or not sometime. But nevertheless, I just thought I might share this because it was a really good and very well researched video.
