That's a good end game but I think the galvanizing is a good in between measure.
If I'm able to build the house I want I want I'll probably get the rebar galvanized. Just because I know I can get this done on my own if I can't order it.
It seems short-sightedness is the reason stainless is not used more, (in addition to stainless being more expensive, harder to machine, weld, etc.) On the other hand, a great many things simply get torn down / or thrown in the trash, as the car may be, before they are old enough to fail.
