My one and only time I got stuck on a jury was in a minor case against a sovereign citizen. A woman who had an expired driver's license. Needless to say, it didn't go well for her, the whole trial and jury thing lasted under a half hour.

I've never seen this work once. I'm sure the "success stories" are annoyed bureaucrats and judges that just get sick of the nonsense.

Probably true. With the one I sat on, the woman was caught trying to avoid a cop by sneaking through a parking lot when she saw him. That made him suspicious so he followed her and stopped her. She had an expired divers license.

She pulled the 'I'm a sovereign citizen and don't need a drivers license' thing. She spent her time on defense referencing from thick books she brought quoting Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, you name it. The judge finally said enough already ... that doesn't pertain to the case - LOL. The prosecution was simple ... you had drivers license and even tags on your car ... your license was just expired. So you needed a drivers license before, but because it's now expired, you no longer do? LOL - she was a young twenty something and clearly coached up for her big appearance. She lost ... even I, who has never been a big government sympathizer, couldn't find sense her argument.
