I'm not defending Mormons either, their religion was a good excuse to send young men off on "missionary work" so the old church leaders could indoctrinate their girlfriends into their pedo harems. They aren't unique in this regard either, pretty much all religion is set up to get stupid people to work together for a common "goal" that a few higher ups can benefit off of. Lastly, Christian religions have some decent parables/lessons/common sense in them but they have also had several additions added in that probably weren't part of the original idea hence religions branching off into all manner of subreligions full of their own brand of degeneracy while pretending they're pure.
