I had to just shake my head and let a conversation go today. I was sitting down with a couple of people just shooting the shit. I joked about how on the 20th, we'd be flying the flag upside down. One of the individuals chuckled and said, "Why? Because Trump lost?". I said "Naw, because Biden will be President". She didn't get the joke... Then she went on a tangent about how crazy things are and how Trump supporters have lost their minds by "rioting". I said, "Kind of like the crazies who have been burning down their cities and looting over the past year?" She was like, "That's different, at least they were only burning down stores, not trying to take over the Government and the Capitol". I felt like out of the thousands of pill I could have dropped, no matter what pill I dropped next, that person is just so far gone. Not only to say something like that but full heartily believe it as an acceptable outlook on things just blows my mind. I just don't have the energy left to even bother with trying to get through to some folks. There are some people that have just fully bought into a single narrative, they just regurgitate the things they get from their echo chamber but they also own it like they have come to those conclusions on their own. Its mind boggling to me.
