Because qoomer shit turns off new users. Voat's front page when not logged in was fucking horrendous thanks to awakening, and Gawakening and all the multiple duplicate Qoomer posts exclaiming, "BOMBSHELL BREAKING TRUST THE PLAN DEMOCRAPS ARE DONE FOR NOW".
