Being aware of the situation we're in makes it impossible to live a happy care free life. Imagine just being able to work and build a family without the underlying feeling of impending doom. We've been denied a happy existence that our forefathers fought for thousands of years to provide to us. We all have a responsibility to defend our civilization from destruction.

Most people throughout human history haven’t had comfy lives. Your happiness is yours to control.

But yes, I agree that each generation has the responsibility to protect what their ancestors gifted them. Unfortunately, we’re floating on a century of mostly good times, some of the best that any group of humans has ever known, and it’s made us all soft and slightly insane.

Acceptance really helps. Accept this situation is what it is, and then focus on the shit you can control.
