9MM was being sold for $80 for 50rnds
Welcome to the (west) European nightmare, where when you even get the fragile grace of having the right to have a gun, you are discouraged to get one by your wallet.
I want to look into reloading. I think that would be the only way forward. Plus, you could easily trade 500rnds for a firearm. I also want to look into getting a 3D printer. I just do not know if one of the $250 ones would be good enough to build a receiver with.
I was doing the same thing, but good luck being able to find primers right now for a reasonable price. There's a current backorder on existing orders to the big manufacturers that's running almost 12 months
A million people have already had this idea, and actually got off the couch to do it. You won't find reloading materials.
The time to buy was two years ago. You buy an umbrella when the sun is shining, not when it's raining.
Funny anecdote, a german politcan was investigated and fined for inciting hatred against minorities by posting a pick of a reloading bench and saying "I want one of those" you have to consider that he had his "loicens" to have fire firearms and that the license was not for collecting or hunting but for sports shooting aka you go through tons of ammo.
What I am saying is, get into reloading and never give up your guns.
Btw is there a way/ is it feasible to make your own primers? because eventually they will go after that too.
Stamping the primer casings wouldn't be too much of a problem but getting the powders/chemicals will be a bitch in the future even / especially? in the US now.
Yes, you can make your own primers, anything that can be manufactured by industry can be made at home or by a cooperating community, but much easier to just reload spent primers. There are several videos giving the details, but in a nutshell, you pull the anvil out, use a nail set or other metal pin to flatten the dent back out from the inside, clean it well, and replace the primer material with about 3 stacked roll caps cut carefully to size. Then replace the anvil. It's a somewhat delicate operation, but doable. Stores are already pulling roll caps from the shelves though, with the usual BS excuses. I am sure there are pages, for now at least, that can give you the chemistry to make your own filler material.
