Statistics can be manipulated like the disinfo about survival rates and covid which are ubiquitous in our circles, but it's pretty easy to catch if you don't have an agenda and shit for brains. As to your other concern it's largely a niggling issue, or it should be, just reject sources that don't cite direct evidence, it's not hard but for some reason most of voat fell for naturalnews and self published crap for years, the "sources" were obviously terrible it's the logically illiterate minds who think they are awake despite falling for the oldest tricks in the book that are the problem.
