The only way this is even conceivably possible is if they have been working on the deal for a long time. You don't just buy Gab overnight. I call fake news.

What makes you say that? Trumps wants access to social media, he has been deplatformed everywhere else and presumably has enough money to throw at the problem. I don't know if this is true but seems within the realm of possibility.
