I mean they brought in their guards, so they had that space secured. That doesn't mean they aren't afraid when they leave. They can't hide forever.
That's very true. They are doing a good job at making everyone hate them too. They aren't even pretending to be the "friendly politicians" that care about people anymore. Not smart on their part. They used to at least hide it.
They have the lying press messaging that a majority of Americans are appalled at the violence at the capitol (they do not mean the violence by the police -- this time). They may actually believe that. At the same time they are crowing about continued agitation among the far right, white nationalists, or whatever smear they have come up with today. So they may actually be in denial of how widespread the hatred for them is; IDK. They ought to realize that having conditioned the remaining masses to be docile, they're not going to get much materiel support from the citizenry.
