When speaking among themselves, the jews refer to Whites as being the Edomites and Germans as being the Amalekites. They may not be the Israelites, and just the Judaens, but they if they do not think they are the Israelites as well, than they think that the Israelites no longer exist due to being effectively wiped out as a people. I think a better account of the jews could be found in books on archeological/natural/historical anthropology like "A History of God" by Karen Armstrong. The biblical God used to be just one of many gods in a pantheon, he was the God of War, the other gods he was jealous of were a part of the same pantheon, and his jealousy was like that of the famous conflicts between the Greek City State cults, particularly that between the Athens cult of Athena vs the Spartan cult of Ares vs the Trojan cult of Posiedon.
