To make an effective change in your nation you need to unite the disenfranchised. The problem with that is they are usually the dregs of society regardless of the structure.

Is there a way to turn it around though? IE if you give them something to believe in, they'll really start to work on themselves? Peterson style?

My understanding is that any human population has a percentage of useless bodies in the form of incompetence and it is not until the competent become disenfranchised through economics, war, overpopulation etc that they join in and reshape a nation. Or tear it down
