There is a big difference in sympathy and support. I can sympathize with some of them as many are basically still children and they have been brainwashed their entire lives by parents, teachers, and the whole of legacy media and big tech.
That's as far as my sympathy goes however, I pity them but still recognize them as an enemy to my country and its freedoms.

You make a good point on sympathizing with them as brainwashed children, but I have to disagree, as I do not sympathize with them any more or less than I sympathize with other people I don't know intimately (which is not at all).
