At my age I have survived probably 10 end of the world events. It's hard to believe that Y2K was 21 years ago. Shit I'm getting old
And I thought that would be the biggest non-event in my life. How you can make nothing bigger than nothing, is a mystery to me, yet I have lived through it. Remember Gore's predictions?
>Yes. It was Al Gore back then who was behind the hype that the world was going to crash because the computers would all fail when the date turned from 1999 to 2000.
But then he came up with "The Inconvenient Truth" about how by 2020 we would all be dead from global warming and rising sea levels. In fact, I think the end of his world was supposed to start in 2010.
Jehovah's witnesses failed at apocalyptic prophecies too.
Got a few more coming soon. https://youtu.be/V2decDcEJqo
My kid and I had this exact conversation yesterday. Time just flys in a blink
Well, Y2K was real, at least. I worked on critical software back then and we worked our ASSES off to make sure nothing happened. It would have been very bad for the infrastructure (power grid, hospitals, the internet, etc) if we had not done our jobs thoroughly.
