Ina May Gaskins Guide to Childbirth. First half of the book is filled with positive, albeit a bit "hippy" birth stories. Second half is a treasure trove of well-reference information and it's an absolute MUST-read for women before they give birth.

A females reproductive tract is no more complicated than a tractor.

You don't need a book to figure it out, just the correct tools, a willingness to prod around, and a pair of overalls that you really don't mind getting dirty
