Its about blood sugar and how your body processes nutrients. Ya carbs arent horrible if youre active but they dont build muscle in the same way
You build muscle faster while you intermittently fast. While you're in the intermittent phase your body secrets HGH which helps you get jacked. If you're going to lift, do it when you first wake up. Then eat a nice lunch and don't eat again until your next lunch the next day. Eat your fill, then don't eat again until the next day.
Good luck getting 3,000 calories in 1 meal.
Who needs luck when you got mcdonalds
You don't have to eat it all in 10 minutes, space it out over an hour. You can do it, eat your fill.
none of us are active enough for carbs anymore. we dont walk 10 miles to get water and hunt game.
I grew up with woodstove heat in the house, garage and sauna, we never had running water in the winter months because the line that fed the 6 houses on our rural road froze in the winter so my father hauled water once a week from a well 5 miles away in a 45 gallon drum in the back of a pickup, if we wanted to bathe twice a week my brother and I would collect ice and snow and melt it down for the tub. And then we had chickens and rabbits to raise along with maintaining a half acre of potatoes and two other gardens...then there was the horses to look after. Today, 6 decades later, I have running water year year round, no more horses, chickens or rabbits, I have one garden, I have 2 woodstoves ...with firewood you're always moving, there's never time to fully relax when heating with wood, and I cut, split and haul my own wood. When temperatures drop to -40F the stove eats it's load in 3hrs, but the house stays at +78F . If I don't get my beef and trout at least 3 times a week I feel it, it's a real weakness that carbs just won't fix.
Did you grow up in Alaska or northern Canada or what? That's really interesting.
I average 11,000 steps or 5 miles per day.
so?
I hear ya... but nutrition is also defiantly not a one size fits all. If I carb up an ~30-60 min before lifting, I can increase my volume noticeably, especially if I'm on creatine. I tried the all meat diet for about a month, years back and it just made me feel like shit. Guess I have peasant genes, but I need carbs to function well. Plus pasta... did I mention pasta?
Go easy guido, your gonna get your organs insulin soaked. Try intermittent fasting. It has a wide range of benefits. I typically only eat one large meal a day and it's working out pretty good for me. I feel better than I have most of my life, my weight stays even, and my energy levels are more even throughout the work day
I'm proper White, 100% North Western European zero percent guido, but pasta... It just hits the stomach right. I'm glad that works for you, bro, but I'm in fantastic shape. I lift 3-4 days a week, cardio 1-3 days. Everyone's genetics are different. Freshman year a buddy of mine and I tried the gomad and I loved it. He puked; couldn't keep that much milk down, whereas I can survive off of milk.
What works for you may work really well for others, or it may not. No silver bullet to fitness other than consistent progressive overload and praying to Brodin at the Iron Temple to keep the Gainz-Goblins away.
this is bro science that keeps getting passed around. instead of the carbs just eat a 2 lb bag a sugar, same result
Sugar is more neurologically addictive than cocaine.
