Besides it doesn't work for everyone, my blood sugar levels dropped to 49 mg/dl which is dangerously low and I wasn't eating any "keto waffles or pancakes" I was eating at most 10-20 grams of carbohydrates per day and was in deep ketosis.
You don't know what you are talking about, some people need grains.
You did it right. It's funny how you thought it's a bad thing. Oh right your indoctrinated doctor told you it's wrong.
Were you at the point where plain white rice tasted sweet? I was and it was my peak of health. Everything descended when I went back to consuming even a small amount of carbs.
Besides I wasn't healthy at all, I was almost passing out while driving.
I will say this once and only once, if you don't understand the science of ketosis and blood sugar levels then don't fucking comment on it.
50 mg/dl is considered dangerously low by literally all nutritionists and at levels of 40 mg/dl and lower you are at serious risk of passing out and death.
That’s the thing with training and nutrition - while they’re a science in the grand picture, they’re an art for the individual. At least until we advance sufficiently in predictive medical science.
So do what works for you, hypoglycemia is dangerous.
You were consuming a lot of fat though right? Here's the ratio from the Polish keto diet I was doing:
- 1 gram of protein per kilogram of “due body weight”
- Fats are calculated by taking each gram of protein multiplied by 2.5 (minimum) to 3.5 (maximum)
- Carbs are calculated by taking each gram of protein multiplied by 0.8 (overweight people should consume lower carbs at 0.5 or 0.3).
It did help me, I regrew all my hair. Could have been the Vitamins as well. Anyway best of luck.
I don't believe keto is the best either, but I only get carbs from raw milk, honey and maybe a piece fruit a day.
High ANIMAL protein defo the way to go. I would also eat a quite high amount of ANIMAL fat, unpasteurised dairy or straight up beef fat.
We are way more poisoned nowadays than humans have ever been and having a bit of good fat from actual quality ANIMAL fat helps arrest and neutralise these over time.
Now if you wanna take It to the next level you eat meat and fat raw, but this lvl most people aren't willing to go to.
so you just listed 3 sugars....
Just a note on honey:
UNHEATED HONEY contains an insulin-like substance that is produced by bees when collecting nectar. That insulin-like substance converts 90% of the carbohydrate in nectar into enzymes that help digest, assimilate and utilize protein. Unheated honey is a wonderful sweet food that helps digest all types of meat. That honey is wonderful for infants, fed in small amounts at a time. The insulin-like substance begins detrimental alteration at 93° F (33° C) and is destroyed at 100° F (37° C). Diabetics, hypoglycemics and some infants cannot utilize honey if the insulin-like substance is destroyed. Honey that is heated above 104° F (39° C) is radical sugar that often causes slow deterioration of membranes in the body. Honey heated above 104° F (39° C) may cause toxicity in some infants.
