My way is not about getting cut. I try to eat the way my grandparents did. Traditional foods made traditional ways. Grandpa lived till 90 eating this way and he was sharp and healthy. He was not an underwear model though.

Eat food. Drink water. If I need a sweetener I only use honey. I collect bacon grease to cook with, or use olive oil. Butter, not margarine. NaCl, mot KCl, for seasoning.

No soy. No vegetable oil. No plastics in food preparation or storage. No Teflon.

Food doesn't come in boxes or plastic bags. Though ingredients sometimes do.

I make my own food. Pies, bread, casseroles, frittatas, sauces, etc... It's ridiculously easy.

I love my mortar and pestle.

Eating right is in large part knowing how to cook. Temperature and its adjustment is vital.

Butter is great for cooking eggs and sautéing onions, BUT it burns easily so you need to cook gently at a low temp. Eggs don't stick if cooked slowly with butter at a low temp. They stay fluffy.

Potatoes stick at low temps, so I fry them with bacon grease at higher temperatures. If I boil them I use RO or distilled water. Tap water kills flavor, probably all the metals and halides.

Meats are best in the oven in a covered glass dish. Cook at 300 to 350 to cook all the way through without drying the meat out, usually 30 to 50 minutes. (Too high a temperature with meat burns the exterior without cooking the interior.) Take the meat out, uncover it, put it back in uncovered, crank the heat up to 450, and continue cooking for another 15 to 20 minutes to lightly brown the outside. Save the au jus for gravy.

Gravy is fun to make. Combine water and cornstarch in a cup. Take the juice from the meat, combine it with butter and seasoning in a skillet. Mix in the cornstarch mixture with it, stirring gently with a fork. Add water if too thick.

Don't be afraid to use recipes online as a jumping off point.

Remember, the key to cooking is understanding the physics of it. Order matters. Temperature matters. Time matters. How you cut things matters, a lot. Spatula, spoon, knife, and fork technique matters, A LOT. (You can do damn near any mixing and stirring you'll ever need to do with an ordinary fork. Whipping, whisking, blending, mashing soft stuff, folding...)

It's hands on. Pick something you like and experiment on preparing it.

Message me if you have any questions.

Ain't nothing wrong with browned butter.

[–] 1 pt

True. But it's a fine line between browned and smoky carbon.

Not all fats are equal. Animal fats only.

I tried Keto and my blood sugar levels dropped to 49, it works for some but not for everyone.

[–] 1 pt

it works for EVERYONE. this keto thing is bullshit i can legally sell you a bag of sugar and label it KETO FRENDLY. no legal description for what is keto. so people eat bullshit keto bread, keto cookies, keto waffles, keto pancakes and then think it doesnt work. just get off all sugars and all grains, and starches. . you will shed weight and get off all your pills. eat eggs, meat, fish, and veggies. no sauces

[–] 1 pt

Besides it doesn't work for everyone, my blood sugar levels dropped to 49 mg/dl which is dangerously low and I wasn't eating any "keto waffles or pancakes" I was eating at most 10-20 grams of carbohydrates per day and was in deep ketosis.

You don't know what you are talking about, some people need grains.

[–] 0 pt

You did it right. It's funny how you thought it's a bad thing. Oh right your indoctrinated doctor told you it's wrong.

Were you at the point where plain white rice tasted sweet? I was and it was my peak of health. Everything descended when I went back to consuming even a small amount of carbs.

[–] 0 pt

I don't believe keto is the best either, but I only get carbs from raw milk, honey and maybe a piece fruit a day.

High ANIMAL protein defo the way to go. I would also eat a quite high amount of ANIMAL fat, unpasteurised dairy or straight up beef fat.

We are way more poisoned nowadays than humans have ever been and having a bit of good fat from actual quality ANIMAL fat helps arrest and neutralise these over time.

Now if you wanna take It to the next level you eat meat and fat raw, but this lvl most people aren't willing to go to.

I make my own sauces. A little vinegar, a little honey, a bit of orange, and a bit of brown sugar. Then I add seasoning like crushed red pepper and maybe a bit ot clove. Spread over a dish of pork or chicken it's not like I'm eating a ton of sugar per piece.

[–] 1 pt

Honey is sugar.

[–] 0 pt

Vinegar based is fine. Read those labels, almost everything has added sugar. Also douse everything in olive oil or butter.

[–] 0 pt

True. Mileage will always very. Manually breaking it once a month or twice over 50grams is good.

[–] 4 pts

If anyone is looking for a reason,

[–] 4 pts

Nah, I like pasta too much. High (or medium) protein, yes, but carbs aren't poison unless you're slothfully inactive.

[–] 0 pt

Its about blood sugar and how your body processes nutrients. Ya carbs arent horrible if youre active but they dont build muscle in the same way

[–] 2 pts

You build muscle faster while you intermittently fast. While you're in the intermittent phase your body secrets HGH which helps you get jacked. If you're going to lift, do it when you first wake up. Then eat a nice lunch and don't eat again until your next lunch the next day. Eat your fill, then don't eat again until the next day.

Good luck getting 3,000 calories in 1 meal.

none of us are active enough for carbs anymore. we dont walk 10 miles to get water and hunt game.

I grew up with woodstove heat in the house, garage and sauna, we never had running water in the winter months because the line that fed the 6 houses on our rural road froze in the winter so my father hauled water once a week from a well 5 miles away in a 45 gallon drum in the back of a pickup, if we wanted to bathe twice a week my brother and I would collect ice and snow and melt it down for the tub. And then we had chickens and rabbits to raise along with maintaining a half acre of potatoes and two other gardens...then there was the horses to look after. Today, 6 decades later, I have running water year year round, no more horses, chickens or rabbits, I have one garden, I have 2 woodstoves ...with firewood you're always moving, there's never time to fully relax when heating with wood, and I cut, split and haul my own wood. When temperatures drop to -40F the stove eats it's load in 3hrs, but the house stays at +78F . If I don't get my beef and trout at least 3 times a week I feel it, it's a real weakness that carbs just won't fix.

[–] 0 pt

I average 11,000 steps or 5 miles per day.

[–] 0 pt

I hear ya... but nutrition is also defiantly not a one size fits all. If I carb up an ~30-60 min before lifting, I can increase my volume noticeably, especially if I'm on creatine. I tried the all meat diet for about a month, years back and it just made me feel like shit. Guess I have peasant genes, but I need carbs to function well. Plus pasta... did I mention pasta?

[–] 2 pts

Go easy guido, your gonna get your organs insulin soaked. Try intermittent fasting. It has a wide range of benefits. I typically only eat one large meal a day and it's working out pretty good for me. I feel better than I have most of my life, my weight stays even, and my energy levels are more even throughout the work day

[–] 0 pt

this is bro science that keeps getting passed around. instead of the carbs just eat a 2 lb bag a sugar, same result

[–] 0 pt

you like pasta because you are stuffing your brain with sugar from simple carbs. That's an addiction same as others. Face it - you are an addict you won't be able to stay a week without simple carbs. And they do fuck up your system welcome heart problems, cancer and diabetes, the three big ones

[–] 2 pts

I like pasta because it's delicious.

>Face it - you are an addict you won't be able to stay a week without simple carbs

That's an extreme conclusion to come to when I said "I like pasta". Black and white thinking is typical in autists. Also, you misused the downvote button as what I said wasn't spam or off topic. If you don't agree with what I say call me a fag and move on (or use your noggin to come up with a retort) This isn't voat and you an immigrant. Don't be a Californian respect our culture.

>On Poal.co, the downvote is not considered as a "I disagree". It's usually for spam and off-topic posts or comments

Constipation is the main issue.

[–] 0 pt

Constipation comes because fungus grow, replace gut bacteria and suck water from feces. Home made kefir is the answer just in case. Actually fungus control your mind through hormones and make you eat simple carbs and basically kill yourself

The only thing I ate today was a bit of blueberry cake. I am a contractor.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

I've been on a low carb diet the past 3 months, no more than 30g of net carbs a day. My energy levels have increased dramatically and my blood flow is tremendous. I never have lunch anymore the stable blood sugar levels quell the appetite, I would recommend everyone at least try this.

[–] 2 pts

In my opinion ketogenic diets only really work with intermittent fasting. Some days I actually feel more pumped up after a full 24 hours without eating. Once you train the body to run lean, it's like food is just an option

[–] 0 pt

you would vastly over eat if you didnt. meat is packing with energy

I lost 30 pounds in about 6 weeks.

Coffee and fruit for breakfast. Nothing all day then eat a poke bowl raw protein and veggies yogurt and an avatar sometimes a salad.. one meal at night.

Run and lift Monday wedenaday friday... if I want to cheat and eat junk I do not to strict but once I get going u don't want to mess up the lifting and running by fueling your body with junk

Sounds good! Were the veggies raw in your poke bowl? What kind of meat? What cuts. I'm on a paleo thing now (no grain, sugars, bad oils), but it's not dropping off like I would like. I just cut out dairy too.

[–] 0 pt

Have you coupled a legit exercise routine with your paleo protocols? It'll help. Us Cavemen gotta stick together.

Well, I was doing wind sprints every day as much as I could for 3 weeks and doing bicep curls with 40 lb. weights. The running was only 6 wind sprints a day because I would run out of breath and cough and feel awful.

As I started to be able to breathe more, I started running as fast as I could for about a half mile each day. But, my joints started feeling crazy awful, I got real lethargic, and thought I got the flu for two days. Then it went away. I ran again, and it came right back.

My wife thinks I got the "low carb" flu. I started eating more fruit and dropped the dairy, but I'm scared to run again. I've put it of the past four days. What do you think?

[–] 0 pt

Salmon or tuna.. veggies are raw if you want to really drop go light on the sauce and don't use rice use zucchini strings or thry have some rice alternative made from caukiflower... obviously chicken and veggies is always a good meal... I drink milk as well chocolate milk depending on how much I'm lifting. Good luck keep it up the biggest thing is just going and doing something once you start even if you puss out and only run a mile its better then nothing I find though once I get there and get working out I usually finish it

[–] 2 pts

I burn over 3000 calories a day. I eat anything.

[–] 0 pt

have fun @ 40
