A Flavorless drink, you can't tell the difference between an expensive bottle and a batch made In a babushkas bathub. It's a drink that was created for peasants. Cognac, whiskey, even gin have flavor.

Ooh, I very much disagree. There is a huge difference between bottom shelf plastic bottle crap, and top shelf Russian, polish, and even some American vodkas. Never to be drunk straight, but rather, over ice with mineral water. Never club soda, that’s where the hangover comes from. Perrier or San Pellegrino. Lime if desired. Quite refreshing on a hot day.

The hangover also comes from impurities. As a broke young man I would put a handle of McCormicks through a Britta filter. After 7 passes through active carbon you can no longer taste the difference between top shelf and your filtered shit. I'd show up to the party with a handle of "Grey Goose" and never once got called out on it.

This. Don't like Slav drinking style, try vodka half and half with water and a lemon slice. Also drinking vodka shots is entirely different thing with some appropriate snacks – fatty meats, various styles of herring, pickles, etc...

Pickle back and pickle brine is a slav chaser.
