Makes sense i guess, on voat people would sometimes check their own spelling without needing red squiggly lines. But I guess if nothing points out mistakes, then there's no possible way to identify or correct them.

My question was actually based on elementary school lessons, not anything requiring a "major." Are apostrophes only taught at the college level now? Is that part of Common Core?
