I don't respect most modern Christians. I can put that aside and respect the moral basis that Christianity brings to civilization. I wish more atheists felt this way.

There should be a middle ground for people who want to live a decent life but not believe in god.

Just live a decent life and don't believe in God. Christians mostly don't really care.

Humans are social animals though and we like to group with like minded people. I would like a place in the the church without the shunning that comes from me telling Christians I do not share their belief in god.
