And don't even have your cellphone on you, or get rid of the cell phone entirely. It's so easy for cops or feds to track people through the cell towers and wifi access points. They can determine your movement patterns and where you live even without GPS.
If your car is recent it's probably got its own cell to track you anyway. You need to find the antenna and sever the wire. If you disable the radio some cars won't work (GM).
I literally tried to block my car's antenna using a faraday cage. It didn't work. Instead the police showed up after I pressed the call button to see if it still worked. Obviously, I would need to disassemble the wiring harness to unhook the antenna. There are also multiple antennas. Not a simple task.

And what was their reasoning for this/how did this interaction go?
I got a 18 year old jalopy, the only computer is a fancy voltage regulator.
Lol.
find the cell antanna and simply short it to the cars ground. It is oos at that point.
So who owns Poal? PuttItOut: Surprise! Poal is my website.

Same guy who owned Voat.
Privacy is a thing of the past and, quite honestly, I'm not sure if it's better to hide in plain site or continue on encrypting everything and limiting my exposure (leave any networked devices at home while out and about, only network things that need to be networked, etc.). I lean towards doing what I've always done but sometimes that paints a bigger target over your head. "We're not sure what they are doing but we're sure we won't like it so let's nuke the bastard."
Yeah I'm right there with you. So many are able to operate with near impunity while being reckless, it's almost like they only watch for the ones "hiding" something.
But at the same time they collect it all regardless, and have quantum computing (probably) to break any encryption. If that isn't here it's right around the corner.
I will say that, like another commenter mentioned, if you drive a newer car you're extra fucked. Drive-by-wire mixed with WiFi or a sim card means full remote access or lockout.
They don't care where you are or what you're doing. As if you are doing something that has never been done before XD. They only care about the info to sell you more shit with.
Until you go off-script.
And activate your microphone and camera, even if the phone is switched "off" . . .
