One of the locations I frequent every day does screening at the entrance to the parking garage. Most of the folks recognize me & either wave my by or ask to see that I have a mask. One though insists on taking my temperature every time & won't do it unless I put the mask on. I would like to explain that even if I had symptoms & those symptoms were the result of covid & not a cold, allergies, or a hangover she would have to be in the car with me, with the windows up for at least 15 minutes to be at risk. She doesn't look bright or engaged enough to take the point & I'm more interested in being on time than arguing the point so I put the mask on while she takes my temperature at arms length. I see her at least once a week. She probably has as low an opinion of me as I do of her.
