As you say I believe this is why many are waking up. It's because the internet is decentralized. They're closing in though. They only control it when it becomes centralized, like when everyone goes to Fagbook and Gaggle. The key is to make sure children don't have the smartphones with them and learn healthy internet behavior. Block those social media sites on your routers. Door to door and face to face also help. People aren't trained to deal with the constant chirp of twatter and those others.
