If a homeowner is too lazy to get out and shovel their sidewalk, it shows that they are probably too lazy to do other things. Sometimes there's a reason for the resident to not shovel the sidewalk - like she's pregnant and the husband works nights as an air traffic controller. In this photo, the resident is clearly retarded or mentally disabled.

I don't agree with bernie... at all.
Still, why is it their responsibility to pursue what you prefer? Is it hindering you in any way?
Why should they be pressured in to doing what you prefer?

You've so far squandered your chance to offer an insightful and mature explanation for why these things are important...
You don't expect me to be disappointed by this? There's no way this is a seriously satisfying answer for you.

Any bylaws or whatever that mandate you shovel the sidewalk would be illegal, but It's just simple courtesy to do your part to keep the neighbourhood nice. It maintains cohesion and keeps the community strong. This is the 'socialism' part of National Socialism, as opposed to fake State mandated contribution socialism. It has to be voluntary to be real.

This Bernie supporter isn't integrating with his local community, same basic problem as Muslim and nigger migrants, just not as bad. He should be pressured to either conform to the community or go back to Africa San Francisco lest the community be slowly destroyed.

So your argument is about maintaining continuity of community.
This is a reasonable argument, but I'm not sure how much sense it makes to insist other people do what you want purely because you and the other members of the community are sitting on the bandwagon and the person that won't do what you want shouldn't not be on the bandwagon.
You could have chosen to speak about rodents, about maintaining a proper ecosystem so that your pets and children are safe from intrusive elements of nature, how if someone needs to use the sidewalk (which we're all entitled to), it not being shoveled will hinder that attempt. Instead, you used elementary persuasion to insist other people perform because you simply prefer it...

This is my issue with people that complain about these things. They don't know why they prefer you conform, they just know that it bothers them that you don't conform.
Anyway, I don't always try to play devil's advocate. I do it often enough, sure, but not always... Either way, this is my reason for not wanting to live in densely populated areas.

It isn't about pursuing what I prefer, it was considered common decency. Everybody that was able to shovel their sidewalk did, if they weren't able too, the rest of us offered to help them out. We would especially do it if we knew they were out of town to not attract criminals.

You aren't going to like that response though, so why bother?

Well, considering that we've already covered this for the most part and that I was receptive to it, I'm not sure why you're saying this...

I even acknowledged that I was playing devil's advocate.
