So your argument is about maintaining continuity of community. This is a reasonable argument, but I'm not sure how much sense it makes to insist other people do what you want purely because you and the other members of the community are sitting on the bandwagon and the person that won't do what you want shouldn't not be on the bandwagon. You could have chosen to speak about rodents, about maintaining a proper ecosystem so that your pets and children are safe from intrusive elements of nature, how if someone needs to use the sidewalk (which we're all entitled to), it not being shoveled will hinder that attempt. Instead, you used elementary persuasion to insist other people perform because you simply prefer it... This is my issue with people that complain about these things. They don't know why they prefer you conform, they just know that it bothers them that you don't conform. Anyway, I don't *always* try to play devil's advocate. I do it often enough, sure, but not always... Either way, this is my reason for not wanting to live in densely populated areas.
