As for illegal images that would require us to share illegal images, so no. Plus that only hurts you and me specifically when it gets hosted.

So no, no sharing illegal images. Even if it's strategic, just no.

But on controversial images I guess I don't see the point. Wouldn't Vox media be better?

Pic8 is an image retaining/proxy site. It technically only serves image links to different hosts.
