Alright I've been exposed to tv a few times this weekend and this is definitely the "slowly boiling water" medium. The content is the water. By the extreme nature of it, I'd say they think they've already won, or they are desperately losing control over us. I am going with the latter.

Tried to explain to a friend that a certain show has 95% White villains. it's every show White Villains, mostly White men He didn't believe me and eventually I sent him a gif of a goat popping out from under an oven so he would relax back into his brainwashing.
