That smell of urine might just be the nitrates they put in cheap balogna to make it last forever. It could just be balogna. I never have any on hand so if anyone could smell some and report back that would be cool. Now here is the really fun part. Where are nitrates sourced from commercially? 90% of all bologna on the market has been peed on.
