You'll need shielding gas. That's the IG of TIG.

I mainly use arc (stick) welding because that's what I've got and what I learned on as a kid on the farm.

How do you buy a tank of argon?

Not sure what the process is where you are. But generally you get them from a welding split shop or gas supplier. You basically rent the cylinder. You might need to pay a deposit for the cylinder, after that you exchange empty for full and only pay for the gas. There will be various sizes of cylinder, though shielding gas is usually in larger ones (http://www.boc-gas.co.nz/en/sheq/cylinder-information/index.html)
