At what point are you going to have to put up steel plates or use 2" thick boards on your roof because of hail like this? I know its rare but that would wreck most structures.

>A string of rotating thunderstorms developed across west Texas on Tuesday, dropping record-setting hail and prompting a novel warning message from the National Weather Service. Hail the size of DVDs bombarded communities to the northwest of Lubbock, shattering windshields, damaging structures and even leaving small craters in fields and farmland.

While I did experience the torrential rain, I didn't have any of the giant hail. The rain came down like a solid wall of water. It was like being under a water fall. At least it didn't last very long. The roar of the water falling was very loud. All the cats came in and hid under the bed...

I am happy to hear that you (and your cats) are ok and didn't get some of that insane hail. I've never seen hail that size but about 8-10 years ago a coworker had their truck get a massive dent on their bed on one of the rails because of a massive piece of hail. At that point.. You don't sit in the cab and hope it passes, You get under the damn truck x.x
