I've been noticing again. Storms seem to pop up in very isolated areas with horrific winds and rain. They last only about 15 minutes or so and disappear as suddenly as they appeared.

What I've noticed here this summer are storm and flood warnings on the chyron on TV for every single storm and even storms that never materialize, like they want to take every opportunity to hype the storms and freak people out - or use the number of warnings as a statistical indicator of climate change at some later date. It's getting ridiculous. The hurricane coming up in the Atlantic should be here on Saturday and the chyron is popping up about every 20 minutes already starting yesterday. Ridiculous. On top of that, the storm is supposed to be a "post tropical depression" (milder than tropical which is milder that a Cat 1 hurricane) by the time it gets here - essentially just some rain and wind Saturday.

@stupidbird this reminds me of the recent snowfall forecast in Ohio in the middle of summer.
