It looks all venous; most like all jugular; there's an internal and external jugular and the carotid artery is basically more medial to the jugular. That might be a saving grace; clamping off those damaged vessels will keep him alive...

I've seen hockey players survive cuts to the jugular. It's survivable. The bigger question is what he was shot with and what damage it did. That sounded like a rifle, something small cal like a .223. Those tumble in flesh causing massive wounds. And thats assuming it was a neck hit at all. The way his body locked on impact indicates to me brain trauma.

By the looks of it he had 90 seconds max to stop the bleeding or die. A neck wound can't get a tourniquette either. Everyone ran away instead of running to help, which to me is a bad sign. He would have needed an expeirienced battle field medic to survive and even then his chances are only so so with that wound.

The old bastard that shot him needs to die by a thousand cuts publically. Not bad enough he's a fucking Boomer that stole anything from the younger generation, but to shoot someone too. Fuck that guy.
