How much it runs me will not be much. It all depends on how much people upload. Back when I had a million videos on the site the variable cost was storage. I had a huge number of views on some videos and I wasn't even making a dent in my free bandwidth. Every server I got for more storage came with even more free bandwidth. So a lot of the real time chess stuff is just training muscle instinct, and then fine tuning how much focus to put in each element (pawns, big pieces, defense). So the key really is just playing a lot rather than being smart. I'd still encourage you to give it a try.
