First off, thank you for noticing my eye for photography.

I know good photography because I'm no good at it myself.

I truly do appreciate you noticing, and I actually think I have an intrinsic talent for taking photographs.

I noticed because your photos bring a feel for the slice of life and time where you take them. You have a natural talent for that and it shows.

That being said, I am intrinsically good at photography because I see interesting shit everywhere. I am really good at seeing the interesting in every mundane situation.

Art is found in the spaces between space, the moments between moments. That's what give your photos life. It's not merely a snapshot of some small part of the world. It's capturing the essence of life and everything in a pure, distilled form.

I want to be better at poetry because I want to describe the interesting shit I see to other people; I might never be actually good at it. It is worth a fucking shot though

Prose would pair better with your photographic art, IMHO. No need for flowery words and rhyme. Just use your words to set the tone and the time and let the viewer and reader run with it. If the photo speaks to them, the words will meld with the images and become more than the sum of their parts. Perhaps try a triptych concept for your photos to visually illustrate the scene with like image or juxtapose differences to give it more tension. The words can then add more power to your story and concept. It could bring some greater dynamics to the slices of life you capture.

It seems you forgot a photo is worth a thousand words.
