works for demented niggers on the subway too
Yeeeaaaahhhh not really what I needed to see on the eve of bringing home 12 chicks lol. I know raising chickens will have it’s challenges but damn. I’m new to this. Don’t make me cull right away damn it.
Secure your coop, coons, cats, owls, hawks, dogs, yokes, foxes, mink, cats and possums aren't your friends.
Yokes?
Meant to say yotes, autocorrect got me.
Yep, understood, thank you.
Well, eventually you're going to have a lot more rooster chicks than you want, and it's either this or turn them into capons. I'm not sure you'd like the process of turning them into capons.
This we have contemplated as well, too many roosters. This is our first go around. If we end up with a couple of roosters (22 chicks to start), we will keep one and attempt to sell the others. If we can’t sell them, then I guess I gotta now look at what turning them into capons means lol. Thanks for the input.

Castrating the roosters before they reach sexual maturity to eat them later
A couple of roosters for 22 chicks isn't actually that bad. You want more than one for a larger flock. Something else you'll need to look into.
This is if youre running a medium to large operation. For anyone who has like 4 chickens, you can tend to the birds more difficult lifestyle.
Cross beak chickens compensate for beak misalignment by scooping their food up with their bottom beak- so you can set thicker food out so they can get it. Also can give them baths and cut the quicks of their beaks every other month.
Its a lot of work that most people won't do, but it's not like having to shoot the horse, either.
Now That's Wife material right there!!
Always nice to see a young woman kill a baby animal.
Tl;dw: she broke its neck. I don't see how this is any better than suffocation. Realistically a quick blow to the head would be better.
She decapitated it. Not the same as breaking its neck.
Wood or Iron?
Checked out her other videos. I'm engaged currently but hhrrrrrnnn...
Or instead.... small tupperware container, with a smaller measuring cup of vinegar and baking soda making C02. Put chick inside and it goes to sleep.
As long as it goes back to earth to nurture another life, its fine. Id see more harm in a painless death without returning to nature than a painful one where the remains serve to feed crops.
