Yup. Many years ago I bought a mountain bike thinking I was going to actually mountain bike in the local trails. So I took a mountain bike, started on to the trail into the forest and remembered no one knows I am there, I have no tools, skills or prep equipment with me if anything goes wrong and about 5 minutes in I turned around, went home and sold the bike. It's a nonsense idea. I have lived in some remote places, and let me tell you, being 500km from the nearest fuel pump in -50c teaches you the value of high density human civilization. I also sky dived once. First, it was boring, I did not really feel anything. Falling through the sky was a lot like standing in front of a giant cold air blower for a few minutes and then a very uncomfortable trip to the ground because NO ONE tells you that the parachute harnes goes around your groin. This means that YOUR ENTIRE BODY WEIGHT is effectively held up by two straps around your legs in your groin area. Joe Rogan has a great line about swimming in the ocean as well. He said something like, it's like entering blind into an ancient huge bottomless forest full of monsters that you cannot see. Or, that is basically another way to say I am a giant pussy. Hehehe!
