Each generation thinks they can do better than the previous one. That's how it's always been. Although I wonder if the current generation still thinks (right), immersed as they are in an ever crazier world.
I wonder to what degree this is actually true. I have seen the phenomenon in my self and generations around me for sure. But I wonder if it is true that each generation actually believes they can do better naturally or if it is because parents, for a long time now, have continually ceded their culture and the teaching of their children to others.
In other words, I wonder if a proud culture aware of it self, it's history and looking forward to it's own future and future dominance, whether their children actually believe they can do better or whether their children believe they are taking on the mantle of civilization on behalf of their ancestors.
