But their borders are absolutely huge and they’re generally in the arse end of nowhere. The border between Ireland and Northern Ireland is only 300 miles long but is completely unenforceable (as clearly shown during the troubles when even the British army couldn’t secure it in any meaningful way). NSW has state borders totaling nearly 3,000 miles. Can’t people just take back roads if they want to cross?
