Tesla or someone else is selling diesel generators for them. This shortcoming has to have been monetized by now.
Now if they only started putting the generators in the car it would be something halfway sensible, but they they already have them, they're called hybrids. Also I'd imagine the majority of electric motor companies also sell generators given the similarity of construction.

Ideally a normal engine plus a supercapacitor bank would allow most cars to achieve excellent mileage and range, but they are intentionally shoving us into EVs. Whenever they force the population, it's always for control.

Yes. It is market purchases of excess capacity out of state. They not only pay a premium for out of state power, but the price follows demand. As excess goes down the price increases.
