I don't think it's astroturfed I think unfortunately conspiracy theories tend to attract low IQ schizos (along with very high IQ people) and as such it's easy for midwits to point to these people to deboonk any counter-mainstream theories. There are tons of frankly mentally unstable people on here for example who sperg out if anyone attempts to nuance their arguments even slightly.
it's definitely a habit that even i used fall into from time to time, though I like to think I've gotten better about nuance especially since I ended up on poal.
the problem really is that normies will beleive whatever is on TV, but the people who DON'T beleive everything on TV are either super smart and look at evidence to debunk msm/gov narratives or total schizos who make shit up as they go and will stubbornly stick to a bad take even when it's totally disproven (actually debunked, not just debooooonked by 'fact checkers') but will then do a 180 just because someone they don't like agreed with what they were saying 5 minutes ago so suddenly it's a psyop.
