I think pretty much all of this would be avoided by teaching basic philosophy. Once you teach someone how to think and learn they go off on their own. But that's why it will never happen

Basic philosophy requires a higher intelligence than the populace possesses this is why it was studied in Greek and Latin at the university level but alas that was pre 1900.
This is also why I refuse to trust the science. They never learned philosophy so they cannot be trusted.
